MDS Architecture designed the first mall in Tete, Mozambique: a 14 000m² shopping centre with plans for future expansion. The open mall is becoming enclosed.

The Glen Shopping Centre Reconfiguration

The Glen Shopping Shopping Centre in the south of Johannesburg now boasts a new enclosed food court area as part of the alterations to the decades-old shopping centre. The existing external food area has recreated and revitalised the heart of the building and resembles a contemporary food market or food hall.
2 De Villiers Street

Design in progress A new inner city mixed use development in Johannesburg comprising of retail on the ground floor, a five storey parkade and contemporary twelve storey apartment building above that was conceived to be a new land mark for the city.
Kwagga Mall Redevelopment

Located in Kwaggafontein, the existing open-air plaza was converted into an enclosed mall, thus extending the GLA of the building to 34 000m². Old face brick facades feature steel cladding and continuous shopfronts, creating a thoroughly modern feel.

Ferndale on Republic is a refurbishment project which has invigorated the development previously known as Brightwater Commons while extending the GLA by 20 000m².
